Bowls enthusiasts compete in EBA Bowls Tournament in Skegness

BOWLS enthusiasts from across the country made their way to Skegness as East Lindsey District Council hosted the annual EBA Bowls Tournament. The competition, which took place at Skegness North Greens on North Parade, saw players from around the country come together to take part in this highly anticipated tournament. The event saw 162 entries covering Ladies Pairs, Ladies Singles, Mixed Pairs, Gents Pairs and Gents Singles. There were a mixture of local players taking part along with competitors from Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk The tournament, which was sponsored by Butlins and Bowled Over, was followed by a presentation which saw winners and runners-up presented awards by the Mayor of Skegness Councillor Carpenter. Winners were: Ladies Pairs Winners - Irene Wright, Selston and Mavis Cade, Westwood Runners Up - Ann Orton, Skegness and Rose Amos, Kirkby in Ashfield Ladies Singles Winner - Josie Tyers, Clipstone Runner Up - Mrs Adams, Hucknall Mixed Pairs Winners - Mr and Mrs Adams, Hucknall Runners Up - Mr and Mrs Parr, Sutton in Ashfield Gents Pairs Winners - Mr J. Adams, Hucknall and Mr J. Jordan Hucknall Runners Up - Mr P. Walker, Sutton in Ashfield and Mr J. Parr, Huthwaite Gents Singles Winner - Mr G. Morris, Sloothby Runner Up - Mr P. Cameron, Mansfield Woodhouse
